Registration opens for 2026 Little Rockers Kids Marathon

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Race officials with the Little Rock Marathon announced that registration for the 2026 Little Rockers Kids Marathon will open Sept. 17.

According to a spokesperson, the 2026 Little Rockers Kids Marathon is set for Feb. 28, at 11 a.m. during the annual Little Rock Marathon Weekend.

Created for children in first through sixth grade, the program encourages kids to complete 25.2 miles of running or walking at their own pace before finishing the final mile on the official marathon course cheered on by family and spectators, officials said.

Since 2004, the program has inspired more than 103,000 children to log an estimated 2.7 million miles, with participants from every Arkansas county and 27 states, officials said.

Program coach Holly Gillette said the program helps keep kids active beyond school hours and encourages parental involvement.

Little Rock Marathon Executive Director Geneva Lamm said the program motivates children to commit to healthy habits while learning the value of setting and achieving goals.

“It’s about more than just running, it’s about building life skills,” Lamm said.
