Phenix City police announce the death of a beloved officer

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WRBL) — The Phenix City Police Department offers its condolences for a beloved officer who recently died.

The department announced on Wednesday the passing of Officer Luke Bailey.

In a statement shared by Phenix City police, they expressed that, “Officer Bailey wasn’t just a great officer — he was a kind soul, a steady teammate, and someone who always looked out for others. His smile, his dedication, and the way he cared for this community will never be forgotten.”

Phenix City police asked to keep Bailey’s family, friends, and the department in everyone’s thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

While this loss is felt deeply by the Phenix City Police Department, Officer Bailey was thanked for his service and memories he left behind.
