One shot and killed after alleged fight in French Quarter area in uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A deadly shooting in uptown Charlotte is under investigation after an alleged fight between two people outside a restaurant ended in gunfire.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, the incident happened Thursday afternoon in the 100 block of Brevard Court, a busy area in the city often referred to as the “French Quarter.”

Witnesses told Queen City News that two people got into an argument outside a restaurant. Things escalated, and one person reportedly shot the other multiple times.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but later died from their injuries.

Authorities confirmed that one person is in custody.
