Man dies after crashing motorcycle in Montgomery County, police say

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Montgomery County on Monday night.

Just minutes after 6 p.m. on Sept. 15, police responded to Beach Drive between Rockville Pike and Knowles Avenue in Kensington for a crash involving one vehicle.

There, officers discovered that 54-year-old Abraham Ehlers was riding a 2006 Suzuki DR-Z400 motorcycle when he lost control and crashed into the edge of the woods, according to Montgomery County police.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Wednesday afternoon, it is still unclear why Ehlers lost control of his bike. Investigators urge anyone with information to contact detectives at 240-773-6620.
