BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Loranger man was sentenced to 10 years after pleading guilty to charges tied to car thefts in Ascension Parish.

Chad Babb, 52, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

Deputies in Ascension Parish responded to a business on Highway 30 in Gonzales regarding a reported break-in on Feb. 14, 2023. According to the office of District Attorney Ricky Babin, two company pick-up trucks were stolen before later being recovered in Livingston and St. Helena parishes.

Babb was named as a suspect and taken into custody after a warrant was issued. The court ordered him to serve a 10-year sentence with credit for time served after a plea agreement.
