On Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, Tracy Aviary welcomed two new additions to its flock of flamingoes. The flamingo chicks hatched at the Liberty Park aviary and are now getting settled in with their parents.
Guests visiting Tracy Aviary might be able to spot the baby flamingoes at the Destination Argentina exhibit, which is open between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. They can also look forward to watching the two yet-to-be-named flamingo chicks grow and develop over the next few months, as the aviary is open year-round.
Some Utahns may remember a famous flamingo from Tracy Aviary who escaped in 1988. That flamingo, named Pink Floyd, made his new home on the Great Salt Lake, feasting on brine shrimp. He would return to the lake every winter for nearly 17 years.
