BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana men’s basketball fans will get their first look at the Hoosiers under new head coach Darian DeVries during the Cream & Crimson Scrimmage on Friday, Oct. 3, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
The intrasquad exhibition, presented by Smithville, tips off at 7 p.m. ET and is open to the public free of charge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring canned food donations for the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.
The scrimmage marks the debut of DeVries, who was hired March 19 as the 31st head coach in program history. DeVries and his staff — assistants Drew Adams, Rod Clark, Kenny Johnson, and Nick Norton — retooled the roster with the nation’s No. 10 transfer portal class, according to 247Sports.
Indiana also went 3-0 during its Puerto Rico Foreign Tour this summer, highlighted by a pair of comeback wins against Serbian professional club Mega Superbet. Fifth-year senior guard Lamar Wilkerson averaged 15.7 points per game to lead the Hoosiers, while sixth-year guard Tayton Conerway added 13.0 points per contest.
The Cream & Crimson Scrimmage is the first official event of the DeVries era and a chance for fans to preview the 2025–26 squad inside Assembly Hall.
