Heat returns Wednesday in Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Wednesday is the last hottest day of the Bay Area forecast before a much cooler rest of the week.

Expect daytime highs to rise well into the 80s and 90s with a couple of spots even getting close to 100 degrees.

On Thursday, highs will only land in the 80s at the warmest. Tropical moisture entering the region will result in rain potential, but most concerning is the chance of thunderstorms. Dry lightning in these storms will up fire danger, especially late Thursday into early Friday.

Sunrise in San Francisco is at 6:54 a.m. Sunset is at 7:14 p.m.
