PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Investigators believe a man may have suffered a medical emergency before a deadly collision in Manassas on Monday.

The crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 in the area of Dumfries and Spriggs Road.

Prince William County police said their preliminary investigation determined that a 66-year-old man was driving a 2014 Mazda CX-5 south on Spriggs Road when he ran a red light and collided with a Mack cement truck. The truck was traveling west on Dumfries Road when the crash took place.

The driver of the Mazda, Eagleheart Patrick Roberds, died in the hospital.

“At this time, it is believed the driver of the Mazda may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the collision,” police said in a release.

The Mack truck driver was not hurt in the crash and stayed at the scene.

As the investigation develops, authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call the police.
