The South Beloit Police conducted a welfare check in the 1000 block of Gardner Street around 9 a.m.
Authorities said that although there was a car parked in the driveway, no one answered the door.
Officers said they saw a bullet hole in a window of the house that appeared to have been fired from inside.
Police went inside the home and found the two dead individuals, both of whom appeared to have died of gunshot wounds.
Authorities said a gun was located near one of the deceased.
Police said there is believed to be no danger to the public. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department and the Beloit Police Department were brought in to assist with the investigation.
“We would like to express our sincere condolences to the families involved in this incident,” police said.
