Teen shot, killed on East Side

CHICAGO — A teen boy was shot and killed early Monday morning on the East Side.

Officers responded to the 10600 block of South Avenue M on the report of a shooting just before 3 a.m.

A witness told police he heard a loud noise and saw a teen boy, approximately 17 to 18 years old, on the ground.

The teen was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital and a homicide investigation has been initiated.
