15-year-old boy fatally shot on Southwest Side

CHICAGO – A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Friday evening on the city’s Southwest Side.

Chicago police said the shooting happened just after 5 p.m. in the 2800 block of South Komensky Avenue in South Lawndale near Little Village.

A 15-year-old boy was on the sidewalk when an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside him. That’s when someone inside the vehicle pulled out a gun and fired shots at the teen, hitting him multiple times throughout the body, according to investigators.

Police said the teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died.

No other information has been released and Area Four Detectives are investigating.
