As the community continues to grieve in the wake of the mass shooting at Annunciation Church, students are getting ready to return to school.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has learned that students at Annunciation Catholic School will return to campus on Tuesday.

It will come three weeks after the mass shooting that killed two kids — Fletcher Merkel and Harper Moyski — and wounded 21 other people.

The school will host supportive activities that focus on connection and play during a modified schedule this week, and extra security and support staff are also planned.

School officials say they continue to share plans for the weeks ahead with families.

One student, 12-year-old Sophia Forchas, remains hospitalized with serious injuries, although her family shared last week that she is gradually making progress.

On Sunday, a celebration of life was held to honor Moyski, the 10-year-old killed in the attack. Merkel, 8, was laid to rest last weekend.
