Mustard Seed Creamery among businesses vandalized again in Denham Springs
Five different businesses were hit during the early morning hours on Sunday, Sept. 14. Officers discovered the graffiti while patrolling and concluded that this was similar to a previous incident.
They searched for a suspect, and at this time, there is no word on whether an arrest has been made in this case.
This most recent vandalism was around two weeks after six businesses were vandalized in Denham Springs. In both instances, graffiti was left on the Mustard Seed Creamery building, marking the third time that it has been vandalized.
In August, Mustard Seed Creamery was one of multiple businesses that were spray-painted with lewd designs. The second instance took place in the overnight hours of Monday, Sept. 1, and the third time happened over the weekend, according to co-owner Tim Levert.
In this instance, the graffiti consisted of the “same messages and phallic images,” Levert said.
“We are hurting, and this feels discouraging at times, but we love our town and we believe in our mission,” Levert said. He believes they are making a difference in people’s lives and that “these acts do not reflect Denham Springs.”
He said that after each instance of vandalism, individuals have shown them love and support.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the search continues for suspects in connection with the second and third instances of vandalism at the Mustard Seed Creamery.
Anyone with information about the vandalism incidents is encouraged to contact the Denham Springs Police Department.
