ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman is injured and a man is facing charges after a domestic incident involving a rifle and a shotgun early Monday morning in Enfield, police said.

Authorities said they received a call reporting a domestic violence incident at Post Office Road just before 1:00 a.m. According to police, a physical altercation took place in the upstairs master bedroom between the husband and wife.

The wife allegedly sustained “significant” head trauma, caused by an object, police said. The Husband allegedly discharged at least one round of what police believe was a shotgun in the bedroom, then used a rifle.

Subsequently, a physical altercation occurred between the husband and adult son, and the rifle was discharged twice, according to police.
