Alicia Clark, 27, of Baton Rouge, was booked into the parish prison on Friday, Sept. 12. She was charged with simple battery and encouraging or contributing to child delinquency, dependency, or neglect.
An officer spoke with Clark on the day after the incident. The Baton Rouge woman said she was following the school bus while on her way to a store that was not too far away.
At some point, Clark said she saw the door open to the school bus and heard yelling coming from the school bus while her daughter was standing up.
Clark said she got on the bus and saw her daughter fighting someone. The Baton Rouge woman stated she tried to stop the fight, got her daughter, and exited the school bus.
BRPD was able to view footage of the incident from the EBR Parish School Transportation Office. Police said the video showed Clark’s daughter sitting up front before heading to the back of the bus.
Clark was seen getting on the school bus and telling her daughter to “punch her in her s**t,” according to the affidavit.
BRPD said that is what initiated the fighting between her daughter and the other person.
During the fight, Clark was observed grabbing and pushing the person that her daughter was fighting, according to BRPD.
Law enforcement confirmed the video also showed Clark telling her daughter to “whoop her a**,” according to the affidavit.
