2 Louisiana men arrested in Assumption Parish after drugs found in car
Deputies stopped a car on LA 1 after seeing multiple equipment violations. The driver was identified as Randall Jenkins, 44, of Vacherie, and the passenger was Corey Plummer, of Gonzales.
Plummer was arrested after deputies learned that he was a fugitive wanted in Ascension Parish. Jenkins was arrested after a search of a car found cocaine, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash.
Jenkins was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and proper equipment required on vehicles: unsafe vehicles. He was released from jail after posting a $60,000 bond.
Plummer was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt and fugitive.
Charges he faces in Ascension Parish include operating a vehicle while intoxicated, simple escape, obstruction of justice, violation of registration — security required, driving under suspended driver’s license, careless operation, false certification and negligent injury.
He remains in jail on a bond of $60,000 for charges he faces in Assumption Parish.
