No one hurt in Germantown deck fire

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — No one was hurt after the deck of a Germantown home caught flames on Sunday, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).

Crews responded around 5 p.m. to the 14000 block of Gallop Terrance near Steeple Road after neighbors reported hearing “multiple explosions” coming from next door.

Firefighters say the flames were quickly extinguished and did not spread to the rest of the home.

According to firefighters, the cause of the fire is believed to be from the failed battery of a solar light.

No one was at home during the fire, firefighters added.
