Heat continues with near triple digits Friday
Friday temperatures: Temperatures will stay above normal for at least the next ten days and could reach their peak on Friday. Lows Friday morning will mainly be in the lower 70s. Daytime highs will soar into the mid to upper 90s with triple digits possible in a few locations. Expect similar temperatures this weekend, but slightly cooler.
A dry Friday and dry weekend: WIth upper-level high pressure settling right over the ArkLaTex, all of the area will stay dry. Futurecast shows a mostly clear sky once again on Thursday night. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds on Friday. We will stay mostly clear on Friday night and see a partly cloudy sky this weekend.
Long-range outlook: We will likely see little change in temperatures and rain chances through the first half of next week. Yesterday, the EURO model indicated that we could see some rain by the end of next week. It has now removed most of that hope. The only good news is that the upper ridge will break down late next week. This will allow daytime highs to retreat back into the low to middle 90s. Overnight lows will cool to the 60s.
