Artists from 14 countries submitted over 880 entries for consideration for the exhibit. Sixty were chosen for the tour. The works are in a multitude of media, including watercolor, acrylic, oil, wood, and bronze.

Museum staff said, “The ‘Birds in Art’ exhibition is an extraordinary celebration of creativity and nature. Its combination of diverse media, artistic styles, and subject matter makes it engaging for all audiences — from lifelong art lovers to families discovering the wonders of birds for the first time.”
‘Birds in Art’ is on display at the Michelson Museum of Art from September 5 to October 25.
