Driver rescued from Berks crash; witnesses sought

SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — Police in Berks County are seeking witnesses to a crash they say left the driver of a box truck trapped.

The crash happened just before noon Friday on Route 222 near Broadcasting Road in Spring Township.

According to Spring Township Police, a box truck rear-ended a tractor-trailer that was moving slowly in the right lane due to traffic congestion.

The driver of the box truck had to be rescued by firefighters and he was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment of injuries.
