Youngsville amphitheater prepares for Lauren Daigle concert

YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY) — Crews are busy transforming the Youngsville Sports Complex Amphitheater ahead of a highly anticipated concert by Grammy Award-winning artist Lauren Daigle.

The show is scheduled for Saturday and is expected to draw a crowd of more than 5,000 people to the growing city. The amphitheater, which opened less than a year ago, is already positioning itself as a destination for large-scale events across Acadiana.

Mayor Ken Ritter shared how the community of Youngsville looks forward to hosts the concert.

“We’re very thrilled to be able to host this type of event,” said Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter. “We’re looking forward to this being something that our residents can come and hear a performer of Lauren’s magnitude and also help support our local economy.”

Ritter said about 5,300 people are expected to attend the concert, with a limited number of general admission tickets still available online.

“This is what we built the Youngsville Sports Complex and the Youngsville Sports Complex Amphitheater for; to have a space to bring our community together and to also drive economic development in our community,” Ritter said. “Residents tell me the reason that makes Youngsville so desirable is our focus on recreation, and this is just the greatest compliment.”

While this will be the first concert of its kind hosted at the amphitheater, Ritter said his team is no stranger to large-scale productions. The complex regularly hosts world-class sports teams, community festivals, and regional competitions.

“Looking forward to having everybody here — and we have some great local restaurants, some great bars,” Ritter said. “So, while you’re traveling in and out of Youngsville, keep them in mind and help support our local businesses, because they’re the ones that help make events like this possible.”

Ritter added that the Lauren Daigle concert marks just the beginning of what he expects to be many more large-scale events at the Youngsville Sports Complex.
