Teen arrested in connection with stolen Ville Platte SUV
VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) — An arrest has been made in connection with the theft of an SUV from the parking lot of the Walmart in Ville Platte, authorities said.

The unidentified suspect, 17, was arrested in Bunkie on Tuesday and charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

The 2021 black Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen Aug. 15 from the Ville Platte Walmart parking lot on East LaSalle Street. The vehicle was

recovered Aug. 18 in a ditch off Cotton Festival Road. There was damage to the vehicle, and items were also stolen from inside the vehicle, authorities said.

A warrant was issued for a 17-year old male suspect whose name is not being provided at this time. His bond is set at $50,000.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Ville Platte Police Department at 337-363-1316. All calls will remain anonymous.
