STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly striking a pedestrian while driving under the influence, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office detailed.

Shortly before 1 a.m., deputies found a man lying on Garrisonville Road with a car being located less than 20 yards away on Salisburg Drive with visible damage consistent with a crash, including a handprint on the hood of the vehicle.

According to deputies, the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies say, when confronted, the driver changed her story multiple times before eventually apologizing for “being drunk,” with deputies noting the woman showed visible signs of intoxication.

Olivia Correa, 23, of Stafford, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, as well as maiming while driving under the influence.

Deputies say she was transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where she was held on a $5,000 secured bond.
