‘Possible threat’ probed, lifted at San Mateo County high school

(KRON) — A high school in San Mateo County went into secure campus mode while a “possible threat” was probed by Belmont police.

Belmont police said they were notified of the potential threat to Carlmont High School around 12:13 p.m. on Wednesday.

“Out of caution, we asked CHS to secure campus while we investigated,” said police in a social media post.

Police said they ultimately deemed there was no threat to CHS, and the secure campus was lifted around 1:15 p.m.

Belmont police said they worked with CHS, Sequoia Union High School District and other law enforcement agencies to monitor the situation.
