A school resource officer was at the scene when the call was received and was joined by police officers who secured the school, located at 9870 Broadmoor Drive. At 12:40 p.m., California High School administrators placed the campus in ‘secure’ status, where students and staff remain in classrooms behind locked doors, and school continues as normal.
The secure campus status was later lifted, according to messages sent to parents.
The San Ramon Police Department said that officers would continue to remain present on the campus for the rest of the school day. However, police said that ground and aerial searches did not uncover any circumstances that would indicate the threat of violence.
