Police: Man arrested after reported stabbing on south side of Muncie

MUNCIE, Ind. — A 37-year-old was arrested early Wednesday morning after a reported stabbing at a home on the south side of Muncie.

According to a news release from the Muncie Police Department, Chris Cook was arrested on initial charges of aggravated battery and attempted murder in relation to the reported stabbing.

The release said that Delaware County 911 dispatch received a report of a dispute at a home in the 2800 block of South Brotherton Street at around 3:51 a.m. on Wednesday.

When officers from the Muncie Police Department arrived at the home at that time, the release said that an “ongoing dispute” was not seen by officers. However, a few minutes later, a 52-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with multiple stab wounds. The 52-year-old is reportedly in stable condition.

As part of the investigation, the release said the detective division of the Muncie Police Department conducted multiple interviews and executed a search warrant, leading to Cook’s arrest.
