MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — The husband of a former Louisiana Department of Health employee is accused of Medicaid fraud, authorities said.
Dominque Higgins, 36, of Monroe, and his wife, Courtney Higgins, a former LDH employee, allegedly concealed their income and marital status to receive Medicaid benefits.
The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation received a criminal referral from LDH regarding the allegations.
Investigators said Dominque Higgins hid his income and marital status to continue receiving benefits, and that Courtney Higgins uploaded a false employment verification letter to Dominque’s LDH file, falsely claiming he was unemployed. LBI alleges the couple knew Dominque was not eligible for Medicaid benefits.
