Sheppton park to be dedicated this weekend
East Union Township and Mericle Commercial Real Estate teamed up to build the park at the corner of Center and Pine Streets in the village.
It honors the Sheppton Mine Disaster and features a plaque commemorating the incident as well as a gazebo, pathways, and more.
The dedication is set for Sunday, Sept. 14 at 10am.
Polka Joe Manjack from WMGH-FM Tamaqua will be on hand for a live broadcast from 10am to 1pm.
