Linn County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested 66-year-old Timothy Lawrence O’Brien, who is suspected of placing the cameras in McKercher Park near Crawfordsville on Highway 228.
The case goes back to July 23, when the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a hidden camera in the park restroom.
Deputies responded to the scene and immediately took steps to identify the suspect, authorities said.
During the investigation, deputies obtained a search warrant on September 8 for O’Brien’s home, where “evidence related to the case was seized,” authorities said.
Following the search of his home, O’Brien was arrested and taken to Lane County Jail for invasion of privacy charges.
Authorities said additional evidence was found, leading law enforcement to believe that O’Brien secretly filmed others – specifically juveniles — with hidden cameras at other locations.
The Sheriff’s Office said the locations of where the videos were filmed and the identities of the juveniles are not known as of September 10.
In the meantime, the Sheriff’s Office said it is working closely with the Eugene Police Department to identify more victims and the locations of the cameras.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
