Arcadia Healthcare confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 on Wednesday that Options Behavioral Health, located on Caito Drive in Lawrence, will shutter its doors on Oct. 9.
“Following a careful and comprehensive review of the current landscape for the programs and services offered by our network of affiliated facilities, Acadia has made the decision to close four facilities – including Options Behavioral Health located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Options Behavioral Health will cease operations on October 9, 2025,” an Arcadia spokesperson said.
According to previous reporting, the father of a young girl filed a lawsuit last year claiming that his daughter was allegedly held against her will while being “tortured” inside the facility. The lawsuit detailed alleged instances of “intolerable” abuse.
The girl was admitted to Options after her father claimed she had experienced an overdose in September and was recommended for inpatient mental health care at Options. The lawsuit claimed the girl was forcefully kept in unsanitary units and subjected to multiple fights.
More details on the lawsuit can be viewed here.
Arcadia Healthcare said staff at Options Behavioral Health would continue to provide treatment services until the facility’s last operating day.
“Prior to closure, Options Behavioral Health will continue to work closely with parents, families and receiving facilities, providing direct care to make this transition as smooth and supportive as possible. Our clinical teams will collaborate with state and local agencies, as well as national and community partners, to verify the best alternative facilities that can provide comparable behavioral care services to fit the specific needs of each patient whose treatment extends beyond Options Behavioral Health’s last operating day.”
