Crash between truck, dirt bike in Coon Rapids leaves 15-year-old dead

A 15-year-old boy is dead after a crash in Coon Rapids on Sunday, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 4:40 p.m., authorities responded to a crash between a car and a bike near the 3300 block of Northdale Boulevard Northwest.

Law enforcement says that Isaiah Lewis Whitlock, 15, was driving a dirt bike on the sidewalk when he swerved onto the road at the Marigold Street Northwest intersection and was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 53-year-old man.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says that Whitlock was declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The crash is currently being investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies.
