This afternoon we’ll start seeing a few showers and thunderstorms pop up in eastern Utah, including places like the Central Mountains, Castle Country, the Uintas, and Moab. Late-night thunderstorms could impact the Wasatch Front, Wasatch Back, and Cache Valley at around 11 pm to midnight.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we’ll see increasing cloud coverage and windy conditions as a large low pressure system approaches to our west. It will throw moisture our way, bringing a slight chance of showers on the Wasatch Front, but most of the activity we do see will be in the northeast part of the state. Southerly winds will keep temperatures in the mid to upper 80s for most and low 90s in warmer areas.
By Thursday the system will have dug deeper, ushering in more moisture and bringing isolated showers and thunderstorms to northern Utah, but we can’t rule it out in central and southern Utah either. On Friday the unsettled weather begins to become more widespread with scattered thunderstorms in the forecast for northern Utah before clearing out over the weekend. Temperatures will take a notable tumble Friday and Saturday with highs in the 70s along the Wasatch Front.
