According to the PA Lottery, the winning tickets worth a combined $300,000 were sold in Pennsylvania leading up to the 42nd draw, which ended with two jackpot-winning tickets totaling $1.787 billion being sold in Missouri and Texas.
The winning Powerball with Power Play tickets sold in Pennsylvania for the September 6 drawing were sold in Lackawanna and Allegheny counties.
The PA Lottery said the tickets, each worth $100,000, were sold at an Archbald Foodmart LLC in Lackawanna County, a Giant Eagle in Allegheny County, and a Getco in Allegheny County.
All three tickets matched four of the five white balls drawn, 11-23-44-61-62, and one red Powerball 17 to win the prize. The PA Lottery said without the $1 Power Play option, the tickets would have been worth $50,000 each.
According to the PA Lottery, the recent jackpot run generated more than $130 million in sales, which created a profit of more than $52 million to benefit the elderly in Pennsylvania.
More than 472,700 other PA Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes in Saturday’s drawing.
The PA Lottery said the last time a Powerball jackpot was won in Pennsylvania was August 12, 2014.
