Alexandria communities rally to help Prier family with funeral costs

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – Communities in Rapides are rallying to support the loved ones of Priscilla Prier, an Alexandria native and teacher remembered for her impact on the community.

Her daughter, Tuscany Prier, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to Help Give Mrs. Priscilla Prier a Dignified Farewell to help cover funeral expenses. As of Monday, the fundraiser had collected $1,710 toward its $5,200 goal from 25 donations.

“Y’all, I need help in getting y’all’s favorite mother and teacher the homegoing she deserves,” Tuscany Prier wrote on the fundraising page. “She loved each and every one of us in her own special way. If y’all could please help, anything would be greatly appreciated. We just want her to have a proper burial for all her loved ones to be able to say goodbye.”

Services for Priscilla Prier are scheduled for Sept. 20.
