TxDOT Amarillo ‘Know Before You Go’ report for the week of Sept. 8

AMARILLO, Texas (KMAR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.

According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:

Monday,

  • Expect various lane closures on State Loop (SL) 335 from SH 136 to US 87 for patching operations.

Tuesday,

  • The left lane of BI-40 at US 60 will be closed for patching operations.

  • The eastbound SL 335 exit ramp to FM 1061 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. for continued work in the area. The eastbound SL 335 entrance ramp from FM 1061 will be closed from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the westbound SL 335 will be closed from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the same reason.

Wednesday,

  • Expect various lane closures on RM 1912 from SH 136 to Masterson Road for patching operations.
  • The eastbound SL 335 exit ramp to FM 1061 will be closed for paving operations.

Thursday,

  • The right lane of southbound I-27 from SL 335 to Sundown Lane will be closed for concrete barrier placement. The overnight work will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday, Sept. 12. The southbound exit ramp to Sundown Lane will also be closed during this time.

Throughout the Week

  • Expect various left lane closures on the I-40 frontage road from Eastern Street to Soncy Road for high-mast lighting installation.
  • Expect various lane closures in both directions of I-27 from SW 45th Avenue to the I-40 interchange for sign placements.
  • Expect daily lane closures on SH 15 from the east side of Perryton to the west side of Booker for asphalt rehabilitation and hot mix overlay operations. The work is expected to be completed this summer. Traffic lights and a pilot car will be in designated areas to guide traffic during this time.

Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work, and other unexpected events.
