Somerset fire station gets emergency ring-removal request
SOMERSET, Ky. (FOX 56) — Officials with the Somerset Fire Department said a patient came to the station asking crew members to remove a ring on Saturday.
Fire department staff posted on Facebook, saying the citizen came to the fire station after other methods, including a trip to the emergency room, had failed to get the ring off.
Station staff reportedly had been trained in the use of ring-cutting equipment and put that skillset to use on Saturday, removing it from the patient’s hand without causing harm.
