BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A Bloomington woman has been charged with multiple counts of theft and drug possession after police say she was found with numerous stolen packages during a traffic stop late last month.
Tiffany Nichole Flynn, 40, was arrested Aug. 30 after Bloomington Police pulled over a silver Hyundai near South Walnut and East Second streets. According to a probable cause affidavit, Flynn was a passenger in the car when officers noticed about 15 packages in the back seat addressed to different people in nearby neighborhoods.
Flynn allegedly admitted the packages did not belong to her and that she had taken them from porches in the Hunter Avenue, Second Street, University Street and Oolitic Road areas. Police recovered parcels belonging to at least 11 people, including Indiana University students and local residents.
During the stop, officers also reported finding methamphetamine, marijuana, and smoking devices in Flynn’s purse. Flynn allegedly confirmed the drugs were hers and was transported to IU Health Bloomington before being booked into the Monroe County Jail.
Prosecutors have filed 11 felony theft charges against Flynn, along with a Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine count. Because she was convicted of theft in 2024, prosecutors also filed notice they will seek an enhanced penalty if she is convicted in the current case.
Flynn faces additional misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
