Eight Arrested During Targeted Drug Operation Near Seminary Park Thursday in Bloomington, Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — July 25, 2025

Bloomington Police arrested eight people Thursday during a targeted operation near Seminary Park as part of an ongoing investigation into drug activity in the area, according to the Bloomington Police Department.

The BPD said detectives have spent several weeks identifying people allegedly involved in selling and using illegal drugs around the park. On July 24, officers arrested eight individuals on a range of charges, including dealing methamphetamine, narcotics, and marijuana.

Among those arrested:

  • Joshua A. Stump, 40, faces multiple felony charges, including two counts of dealing methamphetamine (Level 2), one count of dealing a controlled substance (Level 3), and additional drug-related charges.
  • Daniel D. Floyd, 46, was arrested for dealing methamphetamine (Level 4 felony).
  • Jason F. Johnson, 55, is charged with two counts of dealing a cocaine or narcotic drug (Level 4 felony) and several possession offenses.
  • William N. Potter, 51, was taken into custody on charges including dealing methamphetamine (Level 4 felony), legend drug deception, and syringe possession.
  • Anthony L. Sykes, 40, faces a Level 5 felony for dealing a controlled substance.
  • William A. Connor, 28, was charged with syringe possession (Level 6 felony).
  • Donald J. Haviland, 53, was arrested for dealing marijuana (Class A misdemeanor).
  • Mark E. Lake, 54, faces a misdemeanor charge for marijuana possession.

“Detectives will continue their investigations into those selling and using dangerous drugs in the vicinity of City parks and more arrests are likely in the near future,” the department said in the statement.

All individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
