HERRIMAN, Utah (ABC4) — A water main break at 13400 S and 6400 W in Herriman has led to road closures and disruptions in service for nearby residents.
According to Herriman City, a water main break occurred around 7p.m. at 13400 S and 6400 W. Due to the break, the water supply has been cut off for the nearby area. Additionally, the road has been blocked at that intersection while crews work.
Reportedly, construction crews were working on the water line in the area. Jonathan LaFolette, with Herriman City says that an old pipe fitting gave way. The pipe was scheduled to be replaced next week.
Crews are working to fix the underground pipe and replace the broken piece. Initial estimates say that water service should be restored by morning.
LaFollette said a nearby power substation experienced minor flooding. Unfortunately, two homes downhill from the site experienced significant basement flooding.
