MCPD: Man charged after allegedly touching girl in library
Charles Newton Townsend IV, 49, was charged with two counts of fourth-degree sexual contact and two counts of second-degree assault.
Police say on July 24, a child who was at the Quince Orchard Library told her parent that she had been inappropriately touched by a man later identified as Townsend. Security footage also showed two separate instances where Tonwsend interacted with children.
Townsend was arrested on August 29 and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
Police say they believe there are additional victims and parents whose children may have visited the Quince Orchard Library and come into contact with Townsend are asked to call (240) 773-5400.
