Former Leavenworth teacher accused of inappropriately touching students pleads no contest

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former Leavenworth elementary school teacher accused of inappropriately touching children entered a no contest plea on Friday.

According to court records, Jerome Riscovallez, 55, waived his right to a trial and entered a no contest plea for two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. The court accepted the plea and found him guilty.

All other charges were dismissed.

The Leavenworth Police Department began investigating Riscovallez on Feb. 25, 2025, following allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor.

The Leavenworth School District fired Riscovallez after he was arrested by Leavenworth police. Parents of impacted children have expressed anger with the school district for not doing something sooner.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced in Leavenworth County District Court on Oct. 10, 2025, at 1 p.m.
