Deputy Allred, a survivor of a Tremonton shooting that took the lives of two police officers in Aug. 2025, attended the breakfast on Thursday morning with his K-9, Azula, who was also injured in the tragedy.
Following the breakfast, he gave a speech to the students.
“It means a lot to me that I could be here with you kids today,” said Allred. “A lot of everything we do is for the kids.”
He thanked the children for their artwork, letters, gifts, and more. He also left them with a heartwarming message.
“Be a good friend. If you see somebody that sits by themselves and you’re having a rough day, just go up and say ‘hi’ to them. Make a new friend. Listen to your parents,” Allred said. “One more thing. I need everybody to promise this way. It’s going to be tough. You got to promise to eat the vegetables.”
He asked everyone to raise their hands and promise that they will do those things.
Allred also told those in attendance that Azula will be fine. He shared that she is starting training again this week. And as for himself, he shared that he will be back.
“I’m going to take a little bit of time, but I’ll be back,” said Allred.
