70 firefighters respond to Derwood apartment fire; one rescued
DERWOOD, Md. (DC News Now) — Seventy firefighters responded to an apartment fire and rescued someone who was trapped in Derwood on Thursday night.
The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to 8100 Needwood Rd. at around 8:30 p.m. for reports of a fire on the top floor of a 3-story apartment.
Crews were able to get the fire under control and contain it to the unit where it broke out.
One person was rescued from that apartment unit. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of their burns.
