On August 1, around 11:30 p.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of 16th Avenue for reports of domestic battery. The female victim told authorities that the suspect entered her home through an unlocked window.
When the woman entered her room, she saw Medrano-Benuelos’s shadow, court documents show.
He started saying, “Where is he,” when she found him, according to court records.
The suspect started searching through the home and found a man in the bathroom, which resulted in both of them fighting, police reported.
Medrano-Benuelos was eventually pushed out of the home and left in a white Dodge Charger, the woman told officers.
The suspect was eventually taken into custody and booked into the Winnebago County Jail on August 29.
He is charged with domestic battery that caused physical contact, criminal trespassing to a residence while people were present, and criminal property damage.
Medrano-Benuelos was granted pretrial release on September 4th.
His mugshot was not readily available.
