Metairie crash leaves motorcyclist dead
METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Metairie on Thursday, Sept. 4, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

JPSO officials said deputies responded to the crash in the 5200 block of Veterans Memorial Boulevard around 5 a.m.

JPSO deputies said an initial investigation shows a tractor-trailer was pulling into the road at Kent Avenue and Veterans Memorial Boulevard when the motorcycle hit the trailer.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

JPSO officials said the driver of the tractor-trailer cooperated with the investigation, and routine toxicology samples were collected from both drivers.

According to the JPSO, “The motorcycle being ridden by the rider had been reported stolen out of the city of New Orleans.”
