Charlotte woman wins $25K a Year for Life prize

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Charlotte woman tried her luck on a $2 Lucky for Life ticket and won the game’s $25,000 a Year for Life prize.

Annette Harper bought her lucky ticket from Circle K on Central Avenue in Charlotte. She won her prize by matching all five white balls in the July 31 drawing. The odds of winning that prize are 1 in 1.8 million.

Harper chose the lump sum option and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $279,832.
