According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to stop 22-year-old Nathaniel Swift of Noblesville after he was observed driving 108 mph in a 45 mph zone in the area of Henderson Ford Road and Rinker Road.
MCSO said Swift failed to stop his vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit spilled over onto the southbound lanes of I-69 until it eventually ended around mile marker 141.8 near SR 37 and Teeters Road after the suspect’s vehicle encountered “mechanical problems.” During the pursuit, MCSO said Swift allegedly struck two police vehicles, causing minor damage.
Following the pursuit, Swift was placed under arrest without further incident. Swift faces the following preliminary charges:
The Morgan County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final decision on whether or not to bring formal charges against Swift.
