Man charged after woman, her unborn child killed in Baton Rouge shooting
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An arrest has been made in connection with a July shooting that left a mother and her unborn child dead.

Alex Burns, 28, was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

The shooting on July 27 at 5151 Highland Road left Kimberly Martin, 29, dead. The Baton Rouge Police Department said a second person was shot, but they were expected to survive their injuries.

Burns was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
