LSP: 1 killed in hit-and-run crash in Iberville Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Louisiana State Police was called to the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash around 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

The crash happened in Plaquemine on La. 75 close to the Grand River Church. LSP confirmed one person was killed in the crash.

LSP found pieces of the vehicle around the area where the crash happened, which were used to help find a possible suspect vehicle.

As the investigation unfolded, authorities identified the vehicle and arrested a suspect in connection with this case.

At this time, LSP is withholding the name of the person who was killed, along with the name and charges of the person who was arrested.
